Missing Malayali soldier’s body found in Madhya Pradesh

 

Kochi: The body of the Malayali soldier who went missing in Madhya Pradesh was recovered on Thursday. The deceased is identified as Captain Nirmal Sivaraj (30), a native of Mamangalam in Ernakulam. His body was recovered from Patni region in Madhya Pradesh. His car was also found damaged.
I t is assumed that his car met with a road accident due to flash floods in the region on August 15. He was on the way to his camp in Pachmarhi after meeting his wife who works as an army officer in Jabalpur.

He had contacted his family around 8 pm while returning to his camp and told them that there is heavy rain in the region. This was his last phone call to his family.

Nirmal used to contact his mother over the phone daily. But he didn’t phone her on Tuesday. Following this, a probe was initiated.

His car was spotted around 11 am on Thursday after tracing GPS. The glasses of the car were found broken. Though it is assumed that the car met with with the accident due to flash floods, an official confirmation has not been made yet.
