Mike Tyson to make a comeback in the ring

Controversy’s favourite child Mike Tyson, 54, announced that he would make a return to the boxing ring on September 12. The former world heavyweight champion will bout against four-division champion Roy Jones Jr. in an eight-round exhibition match at Dignity Health Sports Park. This will be his first fight in 15 years.

Earlier in May, Tyson teased his fans about his possible return to action by posting a video of him working out on Instagram with the caption “Anything is possible when you are smart about it. Train Smart. Recover smarter”. He signed off with the message “I’m back”.

Tyson became the youngest heavyweight champion in early days when he defeated Trevor Berbick in 1986 at the age of 20.He was the most feared fighter in boxing in the late 1980s and was the only boxer to unify WBA, WBC, and IBF title.

The programme will air on pay-per-view and the social media music platform Triller. Further matches on the card and musical entertainment will be announced in the coming weeks.
