Sharjah: A large fire broke out on Friday afternoon in Sharjah’s Industrial Area 18, engulfing five warehouses and prompting a swift emergency response. No injuries were reported, according to a statement from Sharjah Civil Defence.
The alert was received at 3:16 pm, with firefighting teams rushing to the scene to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading to adjacent warehouses. The fire impacted warehouses containing shoes, clothing, and paintings, while the contents of three of the affected units have yet to be identified.
Emergency teams successfully evacuated workers from both the affected and surrounding buildings as a safety precaution. Cooling operations are still underway to fully secure the site and eliminate any residual fire risks.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
