Market closes in loss

The stock market was volatile even as it was surging on July 24. At the close of trading Sensex was 11 points down. The Sensex which had crashed to 37,778 points, closed at 37,126 points.

The Nifty which shed 21 points ended trading at 11,194. The Nifty crashed to 11,090 points during trading. Then it climbed 100 points.

Zee Limited, Hindalco, Axis Bank, Infratel and SBI are the shares that registered remarkable losses on the day. Hindalco and Axis Bank lost more than 3%.

Reliance Industries, HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra, IndusInd Bank, and Sun Pharma are the five shares that made most gains on the day. The price of Reliance Industries rose to 4.67%.

Reliance Industries on July 24 set an all-time high record. It created a record of Rs.2,163. In the past one month the share price of Reliance Industries surged 25%.

Only 10 shares of the Nifty 50 shares registered gain on the day. IT stocks were on the path of gain on the day. The Nifty IT Index registered a gain of 1.41%. Among the pharma shares only Sun Pharma gained on the day. Metal shares faced losses. The Nifty Metal Index made 2.06% loss on the day.
