Marginal rise in COVID-19 cases in India, reports 43,082 fresh cases

India has recorded 43,082 fresh coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, taking India’s total coronavirus case count to 93,09,788. Apart from the fresh Covid-19 cases, the death toll has also gone up by 492.

With the latest spike, a total of 1,35,715 people have died in India so far. 39,379 were discharged after treatment in the past 24 hours.

Among the 93 lakh coronavirus cases in total, the number of active cases in India are at 4,55,555 while the total number of discharged cases are at 87,18,517.

The Covid-19 case fatality rate has further declined to 1.45 per cent. According to the ICMR, a cumulative total of 13,70,62,749 samples have been tested up to November 26 with 11,31,204 samples being tested on Thursday.

Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala remain the five worst-hit states. Delhi, which has been the epicentre of India’s recent Covid-19 surge, is at sixth.

Delhi recorded a decline in Covid-19 deaths for the second consecutive day on Thursday with another 91 people succumbing to the disease and 5,475 fresh cases being detected. Delhi government is now considering bringing back the night curfew as a measure to check the spread of coronavirus in the national capital.
