In connection with the 2017 actress abduction case, the State has informed the High Court that the trial court had ignored a statement from Manju Warrier, which has a crucial significance in the case. Manju Warrier who is a prime witness in this case had informed the court that the defense had tried to influence her through her daughter.

Dileep, who is one of the prime accused in this case is the former husband of Manju Warrier. Earlier, the prosecution has informed the court that Dileep is continuously influencing the witnesses of the case to change their statements given to the investigation officers.

The petition submitted by the state in the High Court also noted that the defense, during the re-examination of Manju Warrier tried to project her as a bad mother who is not in contact with her daughter for a long time.

When Manju made the remarks regarding an attempt to influence her, the trial court did not record it, stating that such a statement during reexamination was not admissible.

Accepting the request of the State, the High Court has halted the trial proceedings in this case until November 6.
