Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon passes away

Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon died at 5:35 am in Medanta Hospital on Tuesday. The 85-year-old was admitted to the hospital after complaining of breathing problems, fever and difficulty in urination. He was put on ventilator on July 20 evening when his health deteriorated.

His son Ashutosh Tandon, a UP cabinet minister confirmed the news in Twitter. Lalji Tandon is survived by wife and three sons.

His body will be kept at his official residence in Hazratganj and later at his Sindhi Tola residence to enable people to pay their last respects.

The body would be taken to Gulala Ghat Chowk at 4 pm where his last rites will be performed Ashutosh Tandon said in a statement.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his tribute said Mr.Tandon would be remembered for his untiring efforts to serve society.
