Muscat :The initiative aims to create 885 job opportunities for Omani job seekers across two phases, with an ambitious 84 percent Omanisation rate for permanent contracts.
The agreement was signed by His Excellency Sayyid Salim bin Musallam Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Human Resources Development, with Qais bin Saud Al Zakwani, CEO of Nama Water Services, and His Excellency Dr. Mansour bin Talib bin Ali Al Hinai, Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Authority.
The initiative, part of Oman’s broader vision to empower national cadres, aims to provide training and hands-on experience to job seekers, helping them secure employment in the water services sector. As part of the agreement, 406 positions in the water sector will be filled during the second phase of the training-for-employment program.
The agreement outlines several key objectives aimed at improving employment prospects for Omani citizens. They include enabling job seekers to reviewing available positions and their requirements; identifying and developing the necessary skills for the labour market to enhance employability; providing specialised training programmes that lead to employment in companies within the water sector; and evaluating the performance of participants to ensure maximum benefit and job efficiency.
The program is expected to contribute significantly to Oman’s Omanisation goals, particularly in technical positions in the water sector. The collaboration between the Ministry of Labour, Nama Water Services, and the Authority for Public Services Regulation is a step forward in ensuring the successful integration of national talent into the labour market.
