Kuwait sets places, time for Eid Al Fitr prayer

Cairo: Kuwait’s Islamic authorities have specified places for performing a prayer marking next week’s Muslim Eid Al Fitr festival that follows the sacred lunar month of Ramadan.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Islamic Affairs said the Eid prayer will be held at 5:56am (2.56am GMT) in 57 prayer halls across the country’s governorates, in addition to the mosques where the congregation Friday prayers are performed.
The ministry’s Assistant Undersecretary for Mosque Affairs Bader Al Otaibi issued a circular specifying the public squares, youth centres, and sports fields that will receive worshippers for the Eid prayer.

Muslims perform a special prayer in the early morning of the first day of Eid Al Fitr expected this year to begin on Sunday, depending on the sighting of the moon of the new Islamic month of Shawwal.
The occasion is marked by exchange of visits among families and friends. Cookies and sweets are traditionally served to visitors. Children, meanwhile, would wear new clothes on the Eid.

Temperatures are expected to rise above 30 degrees Celsius in Kuwait during the Eid holiday, according to a weather expert.

“Eid clothes will be spring and summer-like,” Kuwaiti meteorologist Issa Ramadan said in an X post.

He added that there is a chance of some rainfall on the final day of the three-day Eid.
