Kuwait City: Kuwait is making significant strides in strengthening its collaboration with various international humanitarian organizations, said Ambassador Khalid Al-Mageims, Chairman of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS). The statement was made during the inauguration of a workshop organized by KRCS in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) focused on international humanitarian law.
The ambassador highlighted Kuwait’s strong commitment to humanitarian issues and noted that the country has taken a leading role among nations actively engaged in humanitarian and relief operations. He emphasized the shared interest and cooperation between international organizations and the ICRC in advancing these efforts.
The workshop aims to promote the principles and objectives of international humanitarian law. It also focuses on regional and international conflicts and disasters, emphasizing the vital support provided by KRCS to affected communities.
Mamdouh Saud, Head of the ICRC Regional Delegation to the GCC States, praised the active participation of KRCS and its dedication to humanitarian causes. He also acknowledged KRCS’s role in advocating for and preserving the values and principles of international humanitarian law.
The three-day workshop brought together representatives from various Kuwaiti ministries, institutions, and associations, providing a platform to discuss and reinforce Kuwait’s ongoing commitment to humanitarian cooperation at both regional and international levels.
