Kuwait City: Kuwaiti Health Ministry Monitors Monkeypox Situation Closely

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health is closely monitoring the situation regarding monkeypox and is taking necessary precautions. The ministry is observing the situation and implementing required measures in coordination with local and international agencies. Health officials have emphasized that all precautionary steps should be followed to prevent the spread of the disease.

Testing for monkeypox remains mandatory and must be conducted under strict guidelines. Health authorities have clarified that the disease spreads through direct contact, particularly through bodily fluids and lesions. The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported an increased global incidence of monkeypox and declared a public health emergency of international concern.

The disease has been particularly severe in several African countries, prompting the WHO to issue alerts and public health advisories. This is the second time in two years that monkeypox has been classified as a public health emergency by global health authorities. Preventive measures include regular handwashing with soap and water, avoiding direct contact with infected individuals, and maintaining overall hygiene to mitigate the risk of transmission.

In light of the global situation, several regions are on high alert due to the spread of monkeypox. More than 20 countries have reported cases, and health organizations have begun implementing response measures to curb the outbreak.
