Dubai: Flights resumed at Kuwait International Airport after a temporary suspension due to emergency repairs on one of the runways, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation said in a statement.
The airport was temporarily shut down on Saturday due to emergency maintenance, DGCA Acting Deputy Director Abdullah Al Rajhi confirmed, adding that regular operations resumed at 10:25 am and the airport has been operating normally since.
During the suspension period, three flights were diverted to airports in neighboring countries and four others were rescheduled, he said.
The airport had been temporarily closed to fix a hole in a runway, halting all departures and diverting incoming flights to nearby airports, including those in Saudi Arabia, to ensure passenger safety and operational continuity, Al Rai newspaper reported.
