KOSA celebrates Digital Innovation Day in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: Korea Software Industry Association (KOSA) has announced that Digital Innovation Day in Abu Dhabi was held on 16th October at the auditorium of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), an award-winning international financial centre located on Al Maryah. The event highlighted Abu Dhabi’s vision to transform itself into a global technology hub, focusing on attracting global tech, including Asia tech talent and investment, a media release said.

After a welcome message by Faisal Al Mansoori, Senior Vice President of New Age Finance at ADGM, and Joon Hee Joh, Chairman of KOSA, gave a speech. Faisal Al Mansoori explained ADGM’s strategic plans to develop Al Reem Island into a global economic hub, highlighting international business participation. In addition, Diana Ma, a Specialist of the Foreign Direct Investment Department at the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), unveiled a comprehensive package of incentives designed specifically for tech companies, signalling Abu Dhabi’s serious intent to attract innovative technological expertise.
A highlight of the event was the visit to Hub71, ADGM’s flagship start-up ecosystem. Hub71’s track record of nurturing tech start-ups and its comprehensive support system particularly resonated with the visiting Korean delegation. In addition, Namutech and seven (7) early-stage companies, including TSP XR, Dareessoft, Discussion, Inbic, Zorvex, PopcornSAR, and Futuremain, showcased their cloud-based A.I.-related digital cutting-edge technologies to potential investors and partners.

“The Middle East represents a crucial expansion opportunity for Korean ICT firms,” noted KOSA Chairman Steve Joh. “Abu Dhabi’s progressive tech ecosystem and strategic location make it an ideal launchpad for reaching the broader MENA region.”

The successful event sets the stage for increased technological exchange between South Korea and the UAE, potentially leading to more Korean tech companies establishing their Middle East operations in Abu Dhabi’s dynamic digital ecosystem, said the organisers.
Meanwhile, KOSA and Megazone Cloud have been helping Korean AI and digital companies enter the Middle East market through a government support program. KOSA has participated in GITEX Expand North Star for three years, showcasing technologies from startups across AI fintech, blockchain, digital twin, ESG, robotics, and oil and gas.
