KKR turns the table on RR

Our Correspondent
Kolkata Knight Riders posted a massive 60-run victory over Rajasthan Royals in Dubai on November 1, thus sprinting from the bottom of the points table to the top four.

RR captain Steve Smith had won the toss and opted to bowl. For KKR, captain Eoin Morgan played a fantastic 68 runs off 35 balls, his highest this IPL, to help Kolkata reach 191/7 in 20 overs. Morgan’s sterling knock ensured that Kolkata had a big score after the wickets of Shubhman Gill (36 off 33) and Rahul Tripathi (39 off 33), who had a 72-run stand, fell.

Rajasthan crumbled under pressure. Their chase was hampered by the loss of five wickets in the powerplay and at the end of the full 20 overs they finished at 131/9. RR top order was blown away by Pat Cummins, who finished with 4/34, and earned the man of the match.

For RR, all-rounder Rahul Tewatia finished his spell with 3/25 with the wickets of Shubman Gill, Sunil Narine and Dinesh Karthik.
