Kerala’s navy back in action, reaches Pathanamthitta

Kerala’s own naval force is back in action. The fishermen from Kollam reached Pathanamthitta district fully equipped to carry out rescue operations in case of severe floods.

Thirty fishermen and 10 boats from the shores of Kollam Wadi and Thankassery have reached Pathanamthitta. Five boats each were sent to Ranni Itiyapara and Aranmula Satrakkadavu, the worst affected areas in the district. They will remain in the district until the threat of floods subsides.

District Collector P.B. Nooh said that the fishermen arrived for rescue operations on his request. Kozhencherry Deputy Tehsildars K. Jayadeep and Sam P Thomas received the fishermen at the Pathanamthitta Municipal Corporation station.
