Kerala’s daily COVID-19 cases touch new high of 28,469 on April 25
COVID-19 has been confirmed for 28,469 people in Kerala today. The district-wise break-up of the number of cases are Ernakulam 4,468, Kozhikode 3,998, Malappuram 3,123, Thrissur 2,871, Kottayam 2,666, Thiruvananthapuram 2,020, Kannur 1,843, Palakkad 1,820, Alappuzha 1,302, Kollam 1,209, Pathanamthitta 871, Idukki 848, Kasaragod 771 and Wayanad 659.
As part of the second phase of the test, 2,90,262 samples were collected from different parts of the state on Wednesday and Thursday. Of these, 1,26,773 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is 22.46. A total of 1,51,16,722 samples have been tested so far, including LAMP and antigen testing.
No one from the UK, South Africa or Brazil has confirmed COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. COVID-19 has so far been confirmed by 116 people from the UK (108), South Africa (7) and Brazil (1). Of these, 112 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.
It has been confirmed today that 30 deaths in the last few days have been caused by COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 5,110.
Today, 338 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state and 26,318 people were infected through contact. Contact sources for 1,768 are not clear. Ernakulam 4,444, Kozhikode 3,946, Malappuram 2,951, Thrissur 2,847, Kottayam 2,552, Thiruvananthapuram 1,765, Kannur 1,619, Palakkad 666, Alappuzha 1301, Kollam 1,196, Pathanamthitta 804, Idukki 828, Kasaragod 743 and Wayanad 656 were affected by the disease.
Forty-five health workers were affected. Kannur 13, Thrissur 8, Thiruvananthapuram 7, Kasaragod 4, Kottayam, Ernakulam 3 each, Kollam, Palakkad 2 each, Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Wayanad 1 each were affected by the disease.
The test results of 8,122 patients who were diagnosed with the disease were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 861, Kollam 674, Pathanamthitta 303, Alappuzha 675, Kottayam 538, Idukki 247, Ernakulam 1002, Thrissur 769, Palakkad 375, Malappuram 754, Kozhikode 1099, Wayanad 199, Kannur 356 and Kasaragod 270 were found to be negative today. With this, 2,18,893 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 11,81,324 people have so far been freed from COVID-19.
There are currently 4,70,558 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 4,50,993 are under home / institutional quarantine and 19,565 in hospitals. A total of 3279 people were admitted to the hospital today.
Today there are 13 new hotspots. No area is excluded from the hotspot list. There are currently a total of 547 hotspots.
