COVID-19 has been confirmed for 8,126 people in Kerala on April 15. The district-wise break-up of the number of affected are Ernakulam 1267, Kozhikode 1062, Thiruvananthapuram 800, Kottayam 751, Malappuram 744, Thrissur 704, Kannur 649, Palakkad 481, Kollam 399, Pathanamthitta 395, Alappuzha 345, Idukki 205, Wayanad 166 and Kasaragod 158.
One person from the UK was confirmed with COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. COVID-19 has so far been confirmed by 113 people from the UK (105), South Africa (7) and Brazil (1). Of these, 109 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.
60,900 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is 13.34. A total of 1,40,13,857 samples have so far been sent for testing, including LAMP and antigen testing.
It has been confirmed today that 20 deaths in the last few days were due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 4,856.
Today, 238 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state. 7226 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 642 is not clear. Ernakulam 1219, Kozhikode 1033, Thiruvananthapuram 587, Kottayam 713, Malappuram 693, Thrissur 691, Kannur 529, Palakkad 209, Kollam 385, Pathanamthitta 334, Alappuzha 340, Idukki 193, Wayanad 157 and Kasaragod 143 were affected by the disease.
Twenty health workers were affected. Health workers from Kannur 7, Palakkad 3, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kasaragod 2 each, Thiruvananthapuram and Malappuram 1 each were affected.
The test results of 2700 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 512, Kollam 103, Pathanamthitta 61, Alappuzha 177, Kottayam 253, Idukki 40, Ernakulam 337, Thrissur 234, Palakkad 99, Malappuram 264, Kozhikode 410, Wayanad 30, Kannur 119 and Kasaragod 61 were found to be negative today. With this, 63,650 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 11,28,475 people have so far been freed from COVID-19.
There are currently 1,94,808 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 1,85,893 are under home / institutional quarantine and 8,915 are under observation in hospitals. A total of 1,479 people were admitted to hospitals today.
Today there are seven new hotspots and two areas were excluded from the hotspot list. There are currently a total of 426 hotspots.
