Kerala reports 7,002 fresh COVID-19 cases on November 6

Kerala’s COVID-19 case count reached 4,73,468 on November 6 with the state reporting 7,002 fresh cases. The state also registered 7,854 recoveries since November 5.

In the last 24 hours ,63,384 samples were tested. The test positivity rate is 11.05 %.
So far, 3,88,504 people recovered from the disease, while 83,208 patients are still under treatment in various hospitals across the state.

Local transmission of COVID-19 continues to rise as 6,192 of the newly reported case contracted the virus through contact. Of this, the infection sources of 646 are unknown.

Apart from this 66 healthcare workers also contracted the virus.

Twenty seven more deaths were confirmed on this day. The official death toll now stands at 1,640.
The district-wise numbers of those who tested positive today for Coronavirus are Thrissur 951, Kozhikode 763, Malappuram 761, Ernakulam 673, Kollam 671, Alappuzha 643, Thiruvananthapuram 617, Palakkad 464, Kottayam 461, Kannur 354, Pathanamthitta 183, Wayanad 167, Idukki 157 and Kasaragod 137. Of those diagnosed today, 98 have travelled to the State from outside.

The figures for those infected through contact from the districts are Thrissur 940, Kozhikode 735, Malappuram 716, Ernakulam 488, Kollam 662, Alappuzha 633, Thiruvananthapuram 463, Palakkad 315, Kottayam 451, Kannur 259, Pathanamthitta 119, Wayanad 161, Idukki 119 and Kasargod 131.

The count of the infected healthcare workers from the districts are Ernakulam 15, Malappuram 11, Kozhikode 9, Thiruvananthapuram 6, Kollam & Kannur 5 each, Kasaragod 4, Pathanamthitta & Thrissur 3 each, Kottayam 2, and Alappuzha, Palakkad & Wayanad 1 each.

The district-wise figures of the patients who tested negative today are Thiruvananthapuram 824, Kollam 578, Pathanamthitta 152, Alappuzha 321, Kottayam 777, Idukki 104, Ernakulam 1,075, Thrissur 1,042, Palakkad 327, Malappuram 1,180, Kozhikode 908, Wayanad 134, Kannur 393 and Kasargod 39.

At present, there are 83,208 patients under treatment for the disease while a total of 3,88,504 people have so far recovered from Covid in Kerala.

There are currently 3,07,828 people under isolation across the state – 2,86,680 at their homes or institutional quarantine centres and 21,148 in hospitals. 2,669 persons were admitted to the hospitals today.

63,384 samples were tested during the last 24 hours out of a total of 49,85,584 samples sent for testing till date.

Eight places across Kottayam and Kollam districts were demarcated as hotspots today even as 10 areas were exempted. There are 636 hotspots in the State now.
