Kerala reports 6,986 fresh cases of COVID-19 on April 11

COVID-19 was confirmed for 6,986 people in the state today. The district-wise number of infected are Kozhikode 1271, Ernakulam 842, Malappuram 728, Kottayam 666, Kannur 575, Thiruvananthapuram 525, Thrissur 423, Alappuzha 339, Palakkad 325, Kollam 304, Idukki 291, Kasaragod 251, Pathanamthitta 246 and Wayanad 200.

No one from the UK, South Africa or Brazil has confirmed Kovid-19 in the past 24 hours. COVID-19 has so far been confirmed by 111 people from the UK (103), South Africa (7) and Brazil (1). Of these, 107 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.

A total of 65,003 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is 10.75. A total of 1,37,68,841 samples have so far been sent for testing, including LAMP and antigen testing.

It has been confirmed today that 16 deaths in the last few days were due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 4,783.

Today, 197 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state. 6258 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 504 is not clear. Kozhikode 1243, Ernakulam 809, Malappuram 695, Kottayam 601, Kannur 470, Thiruvananthapuram 381, Thrissur 395, Alappuzha 338, Palakkad 135, Kollam 298, Idukki 276, Kasaragod 228, Pathanamthitta 205 and Wayanad 184 were affected by the disease.

Twenty-seven health workers were affected by the disease. Kannur 6, Ernakulam 5, Thrissur 4, Kozhikode 3, Thiruvananthapuram, Idukki, Kasaragod 2 each, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Palakkad 1 each affected health workers.

The test results of 2358 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 130, Kollam 208, Pathanamthitta 64, Alappuzha 190, Kottayam 176, Idukki 77, Ernakulam 120, Thrissur 205, Palakkad 185, Malappuram 265, Kozhikode 407, Wayanad 34, Kannur 216 and Kasaragod 81 were negative today. With this, 44,389 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 11,17,700 people have so far been freed from COVID-19.

There are currently 1,70,810 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 1,64,325 are under home / institutional quarantine and 6485 under hospital surveillance. A total of 1133 people were admitted to the hospital today.

Today there are nine new hotspots and no area is excluded from the hotspot list. There are currently a total of 391 hotspots.
