Kerala reported 3,677 new Covid-19 cases on February 25, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said while addressing a press meet here. 4,652 were cured from the infectious disease today taking the total recoveries to 9,92,372.
63,582 samples were tested and the test positivity rate was 5.78 percent. n total, 1,12,71,993 samples including routine sample, sentinel sample, CBNAAT, Trunat, POCT, PCR,
RTLAMP, antigen were sent for the tests.
With 14 deaths being reported on Thursday, the state’s death toll has risen to 4,150.

Meanwhile, none of the UK returnees tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. So far, 91 UK returnees tested positive for the virus infection. 81 of them have recovered. So far, 11 patients have been identified with the mutant virus strain.
Seventy-eight of the coronavirus patients came from outside the state. 3,351 people contracted the virus through contact. The infection source of 228 persons remains unidentified.

Twenty health workers also tested positive. Among them 6 were from Kannur, 3 from Ernakulam, 2 each from Kollam, Thrissur and Kasaragod, 1 each from Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam,Malappuram and Wayanad.

There are 51,879 active Covid-19 cases in the state. 9,92,372 people have recovered from the
disease. 2,23,191 people are currently under observation in the state. Out of this, 2,15,245 are under home/institutional quarantine and 7,946 people are in hospitals. 905 people were taken to hospitals on Thursday.
Three new hotspots were identified on Thursday while no place was removed from the list. Currently,there are 372 hotspots in the state.
