Kerala reports 2,456 new COVID-19 cases on March 24

COVID-19 has been confirmed for 2,456 people in Kerala on March 24. The district-wise break-up of the infected are Kozhikode 333, Thiruvananthapuram 300, Kannur 295, Ernakulam 245, Thrissur 195, Kottayam 191, Malappuram 173, Kollam 153, Pathanamthitta 117, Kasaragod 103, Palakkad 101, Alappuzha 94, Idukki 86 and Wayanad 70.

No one from the UK, South Africa or Brazil has confirmed COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. COVID-19 has so far been confirmed by 107 people from the UK (102), South Africa (4) and Brazil (1). Of these, 101 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.

A total of 56,740 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is 4.33. A total of 1,28,10,707 samples have so far been sent for testing, including LAMP and antigen testing.

It has been confirmed that 10 deaths in the last few days were due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 4,527.

 

Today, 105 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the State and 2,146 people were infected through contact. The contact source for 187 is not clear. Kozhikode 309, Thiruvananthapuram 230, Kannur 214, Ernakulam 233, Thrissur 184, Kottayam 174, Malappuram 161, Kollam 150, Pathanamthitta 100, Kasaragod 100, Palakkad 53, Alappuzha 89, Idukki 83 and Wayanad 66 were affected by contact.

 

Eighteen health workers were affected. Health workers from Kannur 6, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode 3, Palakkad 2, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam and Thrissur 1 each were affected.

 

The test results of 2,060 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 180, Kollam 271, Pathanamthitta 113, Alappuzha 127, Kottayam 212, Idukki 52, Ernakulam 103, Thrissur 219, Palakkad 103, Malappuram 99, Kozhikode 259, Wayanad 79, Kannur 152 and Kasaragod 91 had negative results today. With this, 24,268 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 10,80,803 people have so far been freed from COVID-19.

There are currently 1,26,817 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 1,23,124 are under home / institutional quarantine and 3,693 in hospitals. A total of 437 people were admitted to hospitals today.

Today there are three new hotspots. No area was excluded from the hotspot list. There are currently a total of 354 hotspots.
