Kerala recorded the highest ever number of COVID-19 positive cases when 8,830 people were confirmed with the virus on September 30, while 23 deaths were confirmed as due to COVID-19. A total of 3,536 patients suffering from the infection were cured on the day, while 123 health workers were infected on the day.
The total number of people who died from coronavirus touched 742 on the day.
The district-wise break-up of the number of infected was Ernakulam 1,056, Thiruvananthapuram 986, Malappuram 977, Kozhikode 942, Thrissur 808, Kollam 812, Palakkad 631, Alappuzha 679, Kannur 519, Kottayam 442, Kasargod 321, Patanamthitta 286, Wayanad 214 and Idukki 157.
