Kerala records 4,167 new COVID-19 cases on September 18

Kerala’s COVID-19 case count reached 1,26,831 on September 18, with the state reporting 4,167 fresh cases. The state also registered 2744 recoveries which took the total number of cured to 90,085, Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja said in a statement.

Twelve deaths were also recorded, taking the official toll to 502.

Out of the total cases reported 3,849 contracted the disease through contact. Among them the source of infection of 410 people was yet to be traced.

Forty eight from the total cases came from abroad and 165 cases are from other states. Apart from this 102 healthcare workers also contracted the virus.

The district-wise statistics of positive cases are: 926 from Thiruvananthapuram , 355 from Kollam, 136 from Pathnamthitta, 274 from Alappuzha, 225 from Kottayam, 100 from Idukki, 348 from Ernakulam, 326 from Thrissur, 268 from Palakkad, 297 from Malappuram, 404 from Kozhikode, 68 from Wayanad, 330 from Kannur and 145 from Kasaragod.
