Kerala records 3,502 fresh COVID-19 cases on April 7

COVID-19 has been confirmed for 3,502 people in Kerala on April 7. The break-up of the infected are Kozhikode 550, Ernakulam 504, Thiruvananthapuram 330, Kottayam 300, Kannur 287, Thrissur 280, Malappuram 276, Kollam 247, Palakkad 170, Alappuzha 157, Kasaragod 116, Pathanamthitta 111, Idukki 92 and Wayanad 82 districts.

No one from the UK, South Africa or Brazil has confirmed COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. COVID-19 has so far been confirmed by 111 people from the UK (103), South Africa (7) and Brazil (1). Of these, 105 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.

A total of 60,554 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is 5.78. A total of 1,35,14,740 samples have so far been sent for testing, including LAMP and antigen testing. It has been confirmed today that 16 deaths in the last few days were due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 4,710.

Today, 131 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the State and 3,097 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 258 is not clear. Kozhikode 530, Ernakulam 488, Thiruvananthapuram 228, Kottayam 279, Kannur 227, Thrissur 268, Malappuram 263, Kollam 234, Palakkad 73, Alappuzha 148, Kasaragod 103, Pathanamthitta 95, Idukki 87 and Wayanad 74 were affected by the disease.

Sixteen health workers were affected by the disease. Kannur 5, Thrissur 3, Palakkad and Kasaragod 2 each, Kollam, Idukki, Ernakulam and Kozhikode 1 each affected health workers.

The test results of 1955 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 174, Kollam 117, Pathanamthitta 70, Alappuzha 139, Kottayam 230, Idukki 31, Ernakulam 125, Thrissur 175, Palakkad 69, Malappuram 260, Kozhikode 273, Wayanad 48, Kannur 169 and Kasaragod 75 were negative today. With this, 31,493 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 11,08,078 people have so far been freed from COVID-19.

There are currently 1,52,136 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 1,47,208 are under home / institutional quarantine and 4,928 are under hospital surveillance. A total of 796 people were admitted to the hospital today.

Today there are three new hotspots and four areas were excluded from the hotspot list. There are currently a total of 361 hotspots.
