Kerala records 2,910 new COVID-19 cases

Kerala saw 2910 people tested positive for coronavirus and 3022 patients cured on September 21, the Health department informed in a press statement.

Of the new case, 2,653 contracted the disease through contact. The source of infection of 312 among them is unknown. As many as 36 infected persons came from abroad while 133 came from other states.

The state has reported 1,38,631 COVID-19 cases so far out of which 98,720 persons recovered.
Eighteen deaths were reported, taking the death toll to 533.

Eight-eight health workers were also tested positive.

The district-wise statistics of positive cases are: 533 from Thiruvananthapuram , 195 from Kollam, 16 from Pathnamthitta, 112 from Alappuzha, 156 from Kottayam, 82 from Idukki, 299 from Ernakulam, 183 from Thrissur, 167 from Palakkad, 349 from Malappuram, 376 from Kozhikode, 18 from Wayanad, 314 from Kannur and 110 from Kasaragod.
