Muscat: IndiGo Airlines is all set to launch direct flights from Kannur to Muscat, further strengthening air connectivity between the Malabar region and the Gulf. The new route will operate three times a week (Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday), becoming IndiGo’s second Gulf destination from Kerala after Kochi.
The addition of Muscat to IndiGo’s network marks a significant milestone for Kannur International Airport, which has rapidly grown into a key hub for both domestic and international travel. Known for its strong ties with the Gulf region, Kannur Airport currently connects to 11 airports across the Gulf, with Abu Dhabi leading in frequency at 17 weekly departures, followed by Sharjah and Doha with 12 flights each, and daily flights to both Dubai and Muscat.
The upcoming IndiGo service is expected to ease travel for thousands of Omani-based Indians, especially from northern Kerala, by offering a more direct and accessible route to Oman.
