The Embassy of India in Kuwait is set to host a series of bilateral trade promotion events focused on the food, agro, and beverages sectors from September 8 to 10, 2024. These events are designed to enhance trade relations and showcase India’s diverse offerings in these industries.
On September 8, 2024, the Embassy, in collaboration with the Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI), will organize an exclusive Buyer-Seller Meet (BSM) for the Food and Beverages (F&B) sector at Hotel Grand Majestic, Kuwait City. This event will feature a delegation of 10 leading Indian F&B companies presenting a wide range of products.
Following this, a two-day Buyer-Seller Meet focusing on Food and Agro products will take place on September 9-10, 2024, at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) Exhibition Hall. This event, organized in association with the Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO) and KCCI, will showcase products from approximately 30 Indian companies. The exhibits will highlight the latest trends and innovations in Indian food and agriculture, including food processing, packaging, and more.
Dr. Adarsh Swaika, the Ambassador of India to Kuwait, will inaugurate both events. The BSMs will present a range of new products, including advancements in organic farming, food safety standards, and sustainable agricultural practices. Innovations such as alternative proteins, fortified foods, and advanced food preservation technologies will also be featured, offering opportunities to explore new markets and consumer segments.
India’s export of food and agro products to Kuwait reached USD 344.36 million in FY 2023-24, indicating a robust trade relationship. With India’s food industry valued at $258 billion and its significant agricultural output—including leading global production in milk, buffalo meat, fruits, vegetables, and poultry meat—the country stands as a major player in the global food and agro sectors.
The events will include B2B meetings with key Kuwaiti importers, hypermarkets, and retail stores, facilitating direct business interactions. Additionally, FIEO’s delegation will engage in a business networking session organized by the Indian Business Professionals Council (IBPC). Both BSMs will be open for B2B meetings, further enhancing trade opportunities.
