India reports lowest daily spike in eight months

India reported 9,102 new cases of the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to the health update by the Union Health Ministry on Tuesday morning. This is the lowest daily spike the country reported after 8 months. With the fresh Covid-19 cases, the tally has now mounted to 1,06,76,838.

Moreover, with 117 deaths related to the novel coronavirus infection, total fatality in the country has surged to 1,53,587.

India currently has 1,77,266 active cases and 1,03,45,985 people have been recovered and discharged so far.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 19,30,62,694 samples have been tested for Covid-19 detection up to January 25 with 7,25,577 of them being tested on Monday.
