India registers 38,772 new COVID-19 cases, 443 deaths in last 24 hours

India’s coronavirus tally climbed over 94.31 lakh on Monday morning as the country reported 38,772 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours. The coronavirus cases in India have mounted to 94,31,692, according to the Union health ministry data.

India has also registered 443 deaths due to the coronavirus, taking the death toll to 1,37,139. There are 4,46,952 active coronavirus cases in India. The total discharged cases stood at 88,47,600 on Monday morning with 45,333 new discharges in the past 24 hours, the health ministry said.

The ministry also said that India continues to have one of the lowest deaths per million population globally. “Focussed measures to ensure a low and manageable fatality rate have resulted in daily mortality figures of less than 500,” it said in a tweet.

India has so far tested 14,03,79,976 samples to detect coronavirus cases in the country. Of the total, 8,76,173 people were tested on Sunday.
