India extends international flight suspension to June 30 while Saudi lifts entry ban

On May 28, India extended suspension of international commercial flight operations until June 30, 2021.

“In partial modification of circular dated 26-06-2020, the competent authority has further extended the validity of circular issued on the above subject… regarding scheduled international commercial passenger services to and from India till 2359 hrs IST of June 30, 2021,” the circular issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said.

The restriction will not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by DGCA.

Saudi lifts entry ban for travellers from UAE

Saudi Arabia is lifting an entry ban on travellers arriving from 11 countries, including the UAE. Quarantine procedures will be in place, reported its state news agency SPA.

Visitors from the UAE, Germany, the United States, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, the UK, Sweden, Switzerland, France and Japan, will be allowed entry from 1am local time on May 30, according to the Interior Ministry.

The announcement was made after studying the COVID-19 situation in a number of countries, and the decision to exempt those that showed “stability and effectiveness in controlling the pandemic”.
