If VD Satheesan, Hibi Eden can share dais with me, why can’t they attend Loka Kerala Sabha, asks CM.

CM also slammed UDF for criticising industrialist Yusuff Ali who expressed displeasure over UDF’s position.

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday slammed the opposition for boycotting the Loka Kerala Sabha. “They boycotted the expatriates, not me,” he said while addressing the conference here online.

“UDF is saying they are boycotting the Loka Kerala Sabha due to political reasons as they cannot share dais with me. Congress MP Hibi Eden was present the other day at an event held at Chellanam. Opposition leader VD Satheesan attended the subject committee meeting with me. The Assembly session will start soon. Then there is a meeting of the MPs from the state. So they can cooperate with the government in public meetings and Assembly sessions. But they will turn their back at the event of the Non-Residential Keralites. This is ludicrous,” he said..

“The expatriates wish for the development of the state. The opposition is trying to block it. People will not accept it. The expatriates spend their life thinking what they can do for their family and the state and not what they would get from here. Boycotting them instead of joining hands to support them is cruel,” he added.

“Boycotters must understand that delegates from 62 countries and 22 states are present here. They have a government here to listen to them. Loka Kerala Sabha will become a legitimate space for the expatriates. How long will they show their back at it? I had held discussions with them ahead of the event as they had boycotted the previous edition. They said they will attend. What kind of democratic principle do these people have,” he asked…
