IBS Software has donated 500 food kits to the fishermen community in the capital city of Kerala as part of its CSR activity.
The donation was made to the ‘Theerathinu Oru Kaithangu’ programme initiated by the Trivandrum Corporation.
Under this programme, the city corporation will distribute food kits worth Rs 1,000 to each member of the fisherman community that has been the most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
A cheque for Rs.5 lakhs was handed over on September 2 to Mayor of Trivandrum K. Sreekumar by Mr Mathew Joshua, Head-Executive Relations of IBS Software.
Notwithstanding great personal risks, the fishermen community rescued stranded people during the floods that devastated Kerala in 2018 and 2019.
Thanking IBS, the Mayor said, “It is commendable that corporates with proven credentials are recognising the needs of society and pledging support to the deserving in such troubled times. I would like to thank the management of IBS Software and its employees for this noble gesture.”
