His Majesty Sultan Haitham Urges De-escalation in Phone Call with Iranian President, Reaffirms Oman’s Commitment to Diplomacy

Muscat : His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik held a telephone conversation with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, during which he expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathies for the victims of the recent Israeli attacks on Iran. His Majesty condemned the damage inflicted on civilian infrastructure and facilities and wished a swift recovery for the injured.

During the call, His Majesty emphasized the urgent need for restraint, calm, and de-escalation on all sides, calling for a return to diplomacy, dialogue, and mutual understanding to prevent further conflict and avert catastrophic consequences. He stressed the importance of safeguarding innocent lives and protecting vital national resources.

His Majesty reaffirmed the Sultanate of Oman’s steadfast commitment to contributing actively—through all available political and diplomatic channels—to the peaceful resolution of the crisis. He underscored Oman’s support for efforts that seek to prevent further escalation and establish fair and lasting solutions that restore stability and normalcy to the region.

In response, the Iranian President expressed deep appreciation for the sincere and constructive efforts made by Oman under the leadership of His Majesty the Sultan. He acknowledged Oman’s historic role in promoting dialogue, resolving disputes through peaceful means, and upholding the values of regional and global peace.

The Iranian President reiterated his country’s support for diplomatic engagement and negotiation, despite ongoing acts of aggression. He emphasized Iran’s adherence to international law and respect for national sovereignty, while urging the international community to stand up for justice and the right of nations to self-defense.
