Global Village to be extended by two weeks during Ramadan

Our Correspondent

In a first, Global Village, the family entertainment and shopping destination, has announced that Season 25 of the popular fair will be extended by two weeks till May 2, 2021. This is to include the Ramadan months when the park will be open in the evening after sundown. The Holy Month of Ramadan is tentatively from April 12 to May 12.
This is the silver jubilee year of the popular park which is open during the cooler months in the country, and provides guests with a chance to shop and dine from pavilions of various countries across the world.
During Ramadan, operating hours will change from standard timings which is 4 pm to 12 midnight; instead the park will be open from 6pm to 2am daily to accommodate guests during Iftar and Suhoor timings.

Bader Anwahi, Chief Executive Officer, Global Village, said: “Delighting guests, uniting cultures, and bringing our communities even closer together has been at the heart of our operations for more than two decades. Although recent times presented the world with many challenges, we are proud to have broken barriers in the travel, tourism, and hospitality sector.
“With world-class precautionary measures in place since October 25, we have elevated guest confidence in new normal conditions, delivering the very best experiences safely. This, together with guests’ enthusiasm and the positive impact of our Silver Jubilee Season, encouraged us to work with our partners to extend this season by 14 days. Ramadan is a month where families come together, and Global Village is the perfect open-air destination to spend time with loved ones. We are looking ahead to the Holy Month as a perfect finale to this milestone year as we continue to celebrate wonder.”
In early March, Global Village moved closer to its target of 25 Guinness World Records titles in honour of its Silver Jubilee anniversary. The Global Village team claimed the record for “Most people in a video relay holding a sign” as part of a larger internal campaign to promote vaccination for staff and partners.
Over 60 members of the Global Village family joined a video call to promote the vaccination drive. Each participant held up a sign that read, ‘I’m Vaccinated. Are You?’ The video call was a central part of a larger internal campaign to encourage teams to get the jab; 100% of permanent staff are now vaccinated and Global Village is trying to ensure that all partner teams also have access to the vaccine.
