For the 16th successive day, fuel prices in India went north. On June 22 petrol price was hiked by 33 paise and diesel by 55 paise. In Kerala the price of petrol crossed Rs.81. Within the past 16 days the price of petrol rose by Rs.8.33 and that of diesel by Rs.8.98. In Thiruvananthapuram the price of petrol was Rs.81.28 and that of diesel Rs.76.12 and in Kochi the price of petrol and diesel were Rs.79.52 and Rs.74.43 respectively.
The cost of petrol and diesel has been on the rise since June 7. There are reports that the fuel prices will continue to rise even as the price of crude oil has been crashing in the international market.
