Fuel prices go up for 14th consecutive day in India

For the 14th consecutive day, the prices of petrol and diesel were hiked on Saturday. Petrol price in Delhi has been hiked by Rs 0.51 a litre while diesel price by Rs.0.61 a litre. With the latest hike, petrol price has touched Rs.78.88 a litre in Delhi and diesel prices Rs.77.67 a litre. This is the 14th day of fuel prices hike since June 9.
The prices of both petrol and diesel prices have been increased by over Rs.7 a litre over the past two weeks.
In Mumbai, petrol price has been increased to Rs.85.72 per litre while diesel is retailing at Rs.75.54.
Rates have been increased across the country and vary from state to state depending on the incidence of local sales tax or VAT.
