Muscat : The statement highlights that the citizen is involved in a lawsuit filed by a relative, resulting in a travel ban until the case is resolved or an amicable settlement is reached.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has followed with interest what has been circulated on social media regarding the case of the Omani citizen residing in the Republic of India, against the backdrop of a lawsuit filed against her by one of her relatives, which led to the issuance of a decision to prevent her from traveling until the case is resolved or an amicable settlement is reached between the two parties,” reads the Ministry statement.
The Ministry confirmed that it is closely monitoring the situation, with the Sultanate’s Embassy in New Delhi taking an active role in the matter. The embassy has engaged a law firm to provide legal representation for the citizen. Additionally, the Ministry is working to facilitate a resolution to the dispute by encouraging both parties to address their family issues amicably, while ensuring that all actions comply with the relevant legal frameworks.
