Flying into Dubai airport? Grand welcome awaits you

Dubai: Those flying into Dubai can expect a big welcome after Dubai Municipality on Sunday announced an innovative project at the intersection of Airport Road and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. Dubai Municipality has prepared a special welcome on the lawn for tourists and visitors to the emirate. As part of the beautification of the Airport-Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road junction, a lamp with the words Welcome to Dubai in English and Arabic was installed on the lawn. The ‘Welcome to Dubai’ lights will illuminate at night. Passengers get a beautiful view when the plane lands.

The beautification project including landscaping of 3.6 lakh square meters on both the roads has been completed. Its price is 2.6 crore dirhams. Dubai Municipality Director General Daoud Al Haji said the largest beautification project in the emirate has been completed. As part of the project, 50,000 different plants and shrubs have been planted on both sides of the road. Also, various types of plants have been planted to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the landscape. Modern irrigation systems are also provided to keep the plants green.
Innovative iron fences have been installed so that the beauty of the plants is not lost. Director General Daoud Al Hajri said that several greening projects will be implemented to enhance the diverse beauty of the city. He added that Dubai will be made the most livable city in the world in line with the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rao Shid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
All beautification works in the city are carried out as per international sustainability standards. He said the aim is to create an attractive environment for residents and visitors.
