Fahadh Faasil’s next is inspired from Shakespeare’s Macbeth

After the mammoth success of movies like ‘Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum’ and ‘Maheshinte Prathikaram’, filmmaker Dileesh Pothan has announced his next movie with Fahadh Faasil, which is being titled ‘Joji’. The director himself confirmed the news on his Facebook page, and he also shared the first poster of this film.

In the poster, Dileesh Pothan revealed that this upcoming movie will be based on William Shakespeare’s drama Macbeth. The film also marks the union of Shyam Pushkaran and Dileesh after Maheshinte Prathikaram. Acclaimed cinematographer Shyju Khalid will crank the camera for this film.

Apart from Fahadh Faasil, Baburaj and Unnimaya Prasad have been also roped in to play crucial roles in this film. Justin Varghese who had composed the soulful songs for movies like ‘Njandukalude Naatil Oridavela’ and ‘Thanneer Mathan Dinangal’ will handle the music department of ‘Joji’.

Expectations surrounding this movie have already reached sky high, as it marks the union of some of the most talented technicians and actors in Mollywood. The shooting of the movie is expected to begin in 2021. More details regarding the cast and crew of the movie will be unveiled in the coming days.

This is not the first time that movies in Mollywood are being made based on Shakesperian dramas. Jayaraj’s Veeram and Kaliyattam were loosely inspired by Macbeth and Othello respectively.
