Exit Permit Application: English Language Service Soon on Kuwait’s Sahel App

Kuwait City : Starting from July 1, expatriates leaving Kuwait will be required to obtain a mandatory exit permit, according to the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM).

The service will be available via the Sahel App under the Labour Services Portal, specifically through the ‘Easy Companies Page’ and ‘Easy Manpower Page’. PAM’s Acting Deputy Director of Planning and Administrative Development, Rabab Al-Oseimi, confirmed that the exit permit application service will soon be available in English, addressing concerns raised by non-Arabic speakers.

The application services will operate 24/7 efficiently, and a dedicated option has already been set up on the Sahel app for this purpose. Employers will be able to submit the application via the Sahel Business App, and once approved, the notification will be directly sent to the worker along with a digital certificate.

The approval process will take only a few minutes, and no involvement from PAM personnel will be required in the procedure. This initiative, launched under the direction of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Yousuf Saud Al-Sabah, aims to protect the rights of both workers and employers.

The exit permit, which includes a QR code, must be presented at airports and land border checkpoints. Both printed copies and digital versions from official electronic platforms will be accepted.

Until now, the Sahel app offered the exit permit service only in Arabic, causing difficulties for many expatriates. The addition of an English-language version is expected to offer much-needed relief.

Before departing Kuwait, expatriate workers must obtain an official exit permit from their employer. This requirement applies to all types of travel, including vacations and emergency situations.
