NIRMAL YESODA

Emraan Hashmi is one of the most talented actors in Bollywood. Even though widely known as the ‘serial kisser’ in the industry, the actor has always showcased his mettle whenever he gets the chance to perform challenging roles on screen.

The latest update about the actor is regarding his new movie ‘Harami’. According to the latest reports, this film will compete in the New Horizons section of the Busan International Film Festival. The festival is scheduled from October 21 – 30, and Harami is one of the few films that will contest in the section amid the pandemic scare.

Shyam Madiraju has directed Harami. In a recent statement, Emraan Hashmi revealed his excitement regarding the movie’s screening at Busan and being the part of the main competition section which is called New Horizon.

“It was Shyam’s script that really attracted me to his project. And his obsession with details, it was very contagious. Kudos to Shyam and his Harami team for making it into the prestigious main competition section of the festival. It was a true passion project for all involved and I am looking forward to the day when we will be able to share the film with the Indian audience,” said Hashmi.

Shyam revealed that he is elated to hear the news of Harami’s participation at the Busan Film Festival. The director also claimed to have spent over two years to conceive the film.

“The film, a labour of love, took me over two years to just scout during numerous visits to India and despite all the monumental challenges we shot live in Victoria Terminus, Bombay Central, and other trains stations, a feat not for the faint-hearted,” Shyam said.

Another Indian movie that will be screened at Busan this year is Bittersweet Head directed by Ananth Narayan Mahadevan. The film will compete for Jiseok Award at the festival.
