Schools holidays

In Sharjah, Sharjah Private Education Authority announced Eid holidays for students of private schools from Ramadan 29 until Shawwal 3. Schools will resume on May 16, 2021.

Some private schools in Ras Al Khaimah following foreign curriculums have given students and staff an extended Eid al-Fitr holiday, from May 9 to May 13; classes will resume on Sunday, May 16.

Authorities of private schools in RAK following American and British curriculums said they had observed cases of absenteeism in students since the start of Ramadan; some were sleeping during online classes, while others were unable to interact well with teachers due to late nights spent with families during the period.

Free parking

Parking is free on May 13, 14 and 15 in Sharjah. Parking fees are however applicable in the seven special zones in the emirate identified by the blue parking signs located there.

Earlier, authorities in Abu Dhabi and Dubai announced that parking would be free during the Eid break – from Ramadan 29 (May 11) to Shawwal 3 (May 15).
