Easing Dubai traffic: Al Maktoum reopens for traffic on Sundays bringing a big relief to motorists

Dubai: The Al Maktoum Bridge in Dubai, a key infrastructure link, has been reopened to traffic on Sundays after undergoing significant maintenance work.

According to the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, the bridge’s major maintenance work was completed on January 16 leading to reopening for traffic on Sundays.
Closing hours

However, the bridge will remain closed for maintenance during specific times. Every Sunday, it will be closed from 1am to 4:30am, and on Thursdays, it will be closed from 1am to 4:30am for regular maintenance.

The bridge reopening is a major relief for commuters, as it alleviates the usual traffic congestion in the areas between Deira and Bur Dubai.
The maintenance work had started in October last year leading to the daily closure of the bridge from 11pm to 5am while it remained closed for 24 hours on Sundays.
