Dulquer Salman movie for Onam to be released on OTT platform

‘Maniyarayile Asokan’ produced by Dulquer Salman will be released on OTT platform. The official announcement was made by Netflix Class. The online release will be on August 31 on Thiruvonam.

Produced by Dulquer under the banner of Wayfarer Films, the film stars Jacob Gregory in the lead role. Anupama Parameswaran will play the lead female role in the film which is about the love and marriage of Ashok, a countryman. The film is scripted by Vineeth Krishnan and the cinematography is by Sajad Kaku.

The music for the film is by Sreehari K Nair and editing by Appu Bhattathiri. The film stars Shine Tom Chacko, Krishnashankar, Vijayaraghavan, Indrans, Sudheesh, Sreelakshmi, Nayana and Sreedha Sivadas.

The film is being released on the OTT platform amid a dispute between the producers and theatre owners who had made it clear that they will not cooperate in future with the producers going ahead with OTT releases. The film industry is eager to know the decision of the theatre owners regarding the OTT release of ‘Maniyarayile Asokan’. Producers are preparing to try their luck on the OTT platform when theatres are closed during the COVID era.
