Dubai Strategic Plan 2030 envisioned for current decade

Our Correspondent

The Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed al Maktoum, has approved a new plan called Dubai Strategic Plan 2030 to help shape the emirate’s development for the rest of the decade.

The plan, approved at a meeting of the Executive Council, aims to create a framework for innovative new projects to enhance the emirate’s growing status on the global stage. The futuristic plan will be developed in line with the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai.

A task force entrusted with the project held a workshop featuring representatives from different economic sectors and other sections of society to help formulate ideas and gather inputs.

There will be 44 representatives of government and semi-government bodies, which will work as one team under the Government of Dubai.

The contributions of the diverse members of the taskforce will be vital to creating a comprehensive plan that will enhance Dubai’s global leadership and its status as the world’s best city to live and work.

In early March, the emirate unveiled Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan to chart the future of Dubai’s sustainable urban development. It aims to transform the emirate into a truly interconnected, people-led city that balances community with tourism and modernity with heritage and nature.

Over the next two decades, the emirate’s population is expected to reach 5.8 million, from 3.3 million today.
