Dubai: Sheikh Mohammed Issues New Law to Regulate Contracting Sector

Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has issued a new law aimed at streamlining and regulating contracting activities across the emirate.

The newly introduced legislation establishes a unified framework for the classification of contractors, linking their categorization to specific technical capabilities and operational capacity.

The law is expected to enhance transparency across the construction sector, foster better coordination among concerned authorities, and ensure a more consistent and efficient regulatory environment for developers, contractors, and related stakeholders.

Authorities believe that the move will support sustainable urban development while aligning construction practices with the emirate’s long-term economic and infrastructural goals.
