Dubai : In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Dubai Metro, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the launch of the new Blue Line in 2029. The line is expected to benefit over 1 million residents, easing traffic congestion and enhancing connectivity across the city.
Stretching 30 kilometers, the Blue Line will connect key residential and commercial areas of Dubai. With an estimated construction cost of AED 20.5 billion, the project is being undertaken by a consortium of major Turkish and Chinese companies — MAPA, Limak, and CRRC.
RTA expects that by 2040, the Blue Line will serve 320,000 daily passengers. The route is carefully planned to integrate seamlessly without disrupting the existing Red and Green Metro Lines.
The Blue Line is a part of Dubai’s broader vision to become a global model for modern urban living and advanced transportation infrastructure. “This is another milestone in the evolution of the Dubai Metro,” said RTA Chairman Mattar Al Tayer.
