Dubai: In a major move towards smarter urban mobility, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled the UTC-UX Fusion, an advanced traffic signal control system powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and digital twin technology. The new system is designed to streamline traffic flow and significantly reduce congestion across the city.
By dynamically adjusting signal timings based on real-time data and predictive modelling, the system represents a major leap forward in intelligent transportation. The use of digital twin simulations enables RTA to test and refine traffic signal changes before implementation, enhancing operational efficiency—particularly at high-traffic intersections and during peak hours.
The deployment of the UTC-UX Fusion system aligns with Dubai’s long-term vision to become a global leader in smart city innovation and sustainable urban transport. By leveraging AI and simulation-driven planning, the system enables faster response times, smarter traffic control, and a more seamless experience for both residents and visitors.
