DUBAI : Dubai Municipality has installed 237 advanced smart traps to curb mosquito and insect populations across the emirate, reinforcing its commitment to public health and proactive pest control.
The initiative, announced on Friday, aligns with the Municipality’s broader strategy to mitigate insect-borne risks, especially as mosquito reproduction spikes during the winter season. The smart traps, strategically placed in residential, commercial, and industrial zones, as well as near water bodies, parks, and public facilities, ensure widespread coverage.
Powered by solar energy, these traps provide real-time insect monitoring, offering crucial insights into mosquito activity. The data-driven approach enhances the effectiveness of pest control measures and strengthens Dubai’s preventive public health strategies.
