Dubai Courts Achieve Record Judicial Efficiency: Cases Resolved in Under 75 Days with 85% Accuracy

Dubai: Dubai Courts have set new benchmarks in judicial efficiency and digital transformation, with record-breaking performance across all levels of litigation in 2024. The courts not only surpassed their case dismissal targets but also achieved remarkable speed and accuracy in judgment delivery.

The Court of Cassation recorded a 112% dismissal rate, closing 6,210 cases out of 5,549 registered. Similarly, Primary Courts achieved a 107% dismissal rate, resolving 61,804 cases from 57,784 filings.

Justice Delivered Faster and Smarter

A comprehensive judicial strategy emphasizing both speed and accuracy reduced case resolution times to:

  • 74 days in Primary Courts
  • 75 days in Appellate Courts
  • 73 days in Cassation Courts

Judgment accuracy reached 85% in Primary Courts and 86% in Appellate Courts. These achievements were made possible through the integration of an advanced electronic evaluation system that analyzes judgment quality and tracks amendment patterns.

The performance results were announced at a media event held under the patronage of Professor Dr. Saif Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Director of Dubai Courts. Key attendees included:

  • Judge Abdul Qader Mousa, Chief Justice of the Court of Cassation
  • Professor Dr. Abdullah Saif Al Sabousi, Secretary-General of the Dubai Judicial Council
  • Judge Omar Miran, Deputy Director of Dubai Courts

‘Human-Centered Justice’ Strategy

In 2024, Dubai Courts launched the ‘Human-Centered Justice’ strategy to enhance litigants’ experiences, especially for vulnerable groups. The initiative aims to simplify legal procedures, promote transparency, and deliver more accessible justice.

Settlements Worth Over Dh36 Billion

Dubai Courts’ amicable settlement centres achieved significant success, recording settlements worth Dh36.3 billion. Key highlights include:

  • Dh25.6 billion in civil, commercial, and real estate disputes
  • 74% settlement rate for the Family Guidance and Reform Department

Calls Answered in Just 8 Seconds

The Dubai Courts Call Centre managed 142,926 calls in 2024, with an average wait time of just 8 seconds. Additionally, the centre responded to:

  • 41,005 WhatsApp inquiries
  • 20,331 instant chat messages

Judicial Development and Training

Investing in future leaders, the courts conducted:

  • 146 training courses totaling 11,421 hours
  • Trained 18 judges under the “Judges of Tomorrow” programme
  • Launched the “Judicial Pathway” initiative to deepen specialization

Digital Transformation and AI Integration

Dubai Courts achieved a 99.1% digital service adoption rate, reinforcing its commitment to innovation. Major technological advancements include:

  • Predictive analytics for dispute forecasting
  • Smart decision-support tools for judges
  • Automatic case classification systems

These tools are streamlining processes and contributing to faster, fairer, and more accurate rulings.
